Habrotrocha rosa Donner 1949
Habrotrocha rosa, whirling specimen, dorsovental view, focus plane on the upper lip. (1)

Habrotrocha rosa, creeping specimen, dorsovental view, focus plane on the rostrum with sensory cilia and the foot with spurs. (1)

Habrotrocha rosa, 2 aspects of the head, different focus planes. Corona width ≤ head width. Left: focus plane on the one-lobed triangular upper lip. Right: focus plane on the sensory setae on the trochal discs which seem to be divided into two parts. (1)

Habrotrocha rosa, anterior part dorsoventral view ; this optical transect (median longitudinal section) shows the short buccal tube (double arrow). Because of this short pharyngeal tube this species may be confused with Habrotrocha bidens, but the trophi with the dental formula (DF) 3/3 separate H. rosa from H. bidens (with DF: 2/2). BT: buccal / pharyngeal tube; Mx: mastax with trophi (Tr); Ph: pharynx; TD: trochal discs. (1)

Habrotrocha rosa, short foot with 3 toes and short spurs with bulbous base; interspace between spurs(1)

Habrotrocha rosa, two images of the ramate trophi. Left: cephalic view with dental formula (DF): 3/3; right: caudal view; rami length (RaL): 13µm. (1)
